"Download QuickPWN" QuickPWN was originally released by iPhone-Dev as a jailbreaking tool for the iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPhone 3G. It wasn't very user friendly so poorlad (please thank him for this) made a nice, easy to use and sleek GUI version of QuickPWN that allows you to automatically jailbreak your device!
What does this allow you to do? As of now it only allows you to jailbreak firmware 2.0.1. Some users have reported that it works with firmware 2.0.2, but we recommend waiting until the Dev Team releases the official jailbreak. Want to download QuickPWN? "Jailbreak iPhone 2.1" How to, Do you want to Jailbreak iPhone 2.1? Well, now you can! Unfortunately it's not an easy process as it was with the ipod Touch which was completely GUI based. You will need to carefully follow the below instructions to jailbreak your iPhone 2.1. This tutorial also works for the iPhone 3G.
You must install iTunes 8 first, so if you don't have iTunes 8 download or update to it right now.
If you're using an iPhone, you must download iPhone 2.1 firmware using the below link: click here

1. Open iTunes 8, and update to iPhone firmware 2.1.
2. After you're upgraded to firmware 2.1, uninstall iTunes 8.0, and install iTunes 7.7.* from the download link here: Click Here
3. Click --> Download QuickPWN iPhone 2.1 Jailbreak <--, or use any of these mirrors if this link doesn't work:

4. Run the QuickPWN-GUI.exe file and browse and select your iPhone 2.1 firmware.
5. Follow the on-screen steps, choose Installer and Cydia.
6. Once finished, your iPhone will reboot, but Installer and Cydia won't be visible.
7. Download & Install DiskAid from here: click here
8. Connect your iPhone via USB to your computer and launch the DiskAID program.
9. When the DiskAid screen launches, you'll see a drop-down box on the bottom left that says "Media Folder". Click on it, and select "Root Folder" instead.
10. You'll get a Root Partition message, just click ok!
11. On the left side, scroll down and click the System folder. Now double-click the Library Folder. Scroll down and double-click the "PrivateFrameworks" folder.
12. On the right side, scroll down and click on the MobileInstallation.framework folder.
13. Select the MobileInstallation file, and click "Delete from Device".
14. Download the new MobileInstallation patch from click here
15. In DiskAid, click "Copy File to Device", and select the MobileInstallation file you downloaded.
16. After you've copied the MobileInstallation file, reboot your iPhone and you should see a jailbreaked iPhone 2.1 now! Enjoy.

6 Serious Problems with iPhone 2.2 OS, The iPhone 2.2 OS update came out yesterday and users are rushing to download the update to activate additional features Google Maps Street View, voice call and email enhancements, and a refreshed iPhone Safari UI. But, it seems to be a bad news for the early updaters. iPhone Atlas have reported several problems such as problems with broken third-party applications to internet connection issues and some bugs. Let me list the problems
1. App Store is too slow
Users have reported that the app store is loading really slow after the update. If it’s sever side problem i hope Apple with take care of it soon.
2. Distance Unit Error in Google Maps
Google Maps are displaying kilometers instead miles for a wide set of countries. To solve this problem for the time-being change your country to USA, but users outside america see this as a nuisance.
3. Internet Connection Trouble
Users complaining that they are not allowed to connect to the internet over their cellular networks. This issue can be resolved by switching from 3G to EDGE (or, for carriers other than AT&T, the appropriate GPRS network).
4. Problems with E-mail Deletion
I have the same trouble with my current OS to delete mail from accounts like Gmail and AOL. Users have reported similar problems in deleting AOL mails. You can manually fix this issue. Goto Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > (Your account name) > Advanced > Deleted Mailbox, then setting for the “On My iPhone” Trash for a POP account, or “On the Server” for an IMAP account.
5. Third-Party Applications broken
This is bad news for power users, i use my iPhone mainly considering the apps in them. Some 3rd applications will not function properly like before under the new iPhone OS 2.2 due to API changes and other alterations. These include a number of applications that use CoreAudio. These applications will generally need to be updated by their developers. However, you can try uninstalling then reinstalling applications for problems that do not involve API or other strict compatibility problems.
6. “SIM card not inserted” or “PIN Lock”
Not this again, it happened to me twice. This error is really irritating. Users are recieving errors that the SIM card is not inserted, or that a PIN lock is in place when none should exist. You can solve the SIM issue by removing the SIM card, then connect to your computer and restore. Then iTunes will reload the software, and followed by that you can re-insert the SIM card and attempt synchronization with iTunes.

Rumours spreading that Apple is prepping an enhanced 32GB version of its iPhone 3G. Image: Apple.
Apple iPhone rumoured for January 2009 32Gb,Never far from the news, the iconic iPhone slinks back beneath the media spotlight this week thanks to emerging Net speculation that suggests an improved version of Apple’s latest 3G smartphone will be offered up with a 32GB capacity this coming January.
Initially ground from the technology rumour mill by the keen-eyed folk at AppleInsider, current related chatter points to apparently dwindling retail stock of the existing 8GB iPhone 3G, which the fan site believes could be a precursor to Apple launching an enhanced model.
In terms of credibility, Apple certainly isn’t adverse to bringing out new versions of existing devices bolstered by larger storage capacities and overhauled features, and the suggestion of a January appearance for the 32GB iPhone does at least fit with the calendar positioning of the Cupertino-based company’s annual MacWorld event.
Of course, that convincingly snug fit could also be seen as little more than a cobbled connection designed to help justify and spread an otherwise unfounded claim.
Furthermore, such a claim is also somewhat protected from close scrutiny as Apple isn’t exactly known for its willingness to converse with the press regarding its products at the best of times.
Beyond the initial whispers emanating from AppleInsider, other 32GB iPhone rumours have sprung up from ITProPortal, which offers that the expanded handset will also include prolonged battery performance and an improved 3.2 mega pixel camera.
Not satisfied with leaving those rumours to fester alone as MacWorld creeps ever closer, other online sources are tagging the 32GB iPhone with a 500GBP price tag, while others are pointing to a price cut for the 16GB model, and the complete discontinuation of the baseline 8GB handset.

In my previous post I posted a jailbreak which required a lot of work. This jailbreak for iPod Touch 2.1 is completely GUI based. Just run QuickPWN.exe after uncompressing the zip file and follow the on-screen instructions. It couldn't get any simpler than this! :)

1. Before you do anything, make sure you have a jailbroken iPod Touch. SSH into your iPod Touch using and navigate to the /System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileInstallation.framework folder. Find the MobileInstallation file, and download a copy of it to your desktop. You will need this file later in this guide.
2. Download iPod Touch 2.1 firmware file, and shift-click restore to install this firmware instead of updating to it.
3. Download QuickPWN 2.1 jailbreak edition using any of the links below:

4. After uncompressing the QuickPWN folder, run QuickPWN.exe, choose the iPod Touch, Browse for your iPod Touch 2.1 firmware file and then click the next button.
5. Installer and Cydia should be checked on this screen, so click next.
6. You should see a message on your screen that says "You are now ready to start the PWNAGE process on your device", make sure your iPod Touch is connected via USB and click next.
7. Follow the on-screen instructions for putting your device in recovery mode.
8. You should see a message that says "The PWNAGE process appears to have completed successfully". Wait for your iPod Touch to reboot.
9. Once your iPod Touch loads to the home screen, you'll notice that Installer and Cydia are not there. Remember that MobileInstallation file you downloaded in the beginning? In order to install Installer and Cydia you will need to put this file in your iPod Touch.
10. To put the MobileInstallation file in your iPod Touch, download the TotalCommander file from here:

11. You will need the T-Pot plugin for TotalCommander in order to browse files on your iPod Touch. To download and install it, view this page:

12. Launch TotalCommander, and navigate to /System/Library/PrivateFrameWorks/MobileInstallation.framework.
13. Replace the MobileInstallation file with the one you downloaded to your Desktop in the beginning.
That's it! You are now on a jailbroken iPod Touch 2.1.
